I hold a degree in Software Engineering. I spent several years working as a software designer, most recently at Intel. I was in the process of making a career switch to project management when my son was born. I made the difficult decision to leave my career to focus on raising my kids.
I have spent years volunteering for my children. At the school, I have filled many roles including:
Both my kids play hockey. My son is entering second year Bantam with Tbirds while my daughter is a Peewee with Vancouver Angels girl's hockey. My son has played some rep but both kids are now primarily interested in playing recreational. I have spent many years supporting their hockey and have taken on the following roles:
Besides hockey, my kids also play baseball and softball. I have supported these sports as well. I have managed a couple of baseball teams and am currently in the process of organizing a 14-team softball tournament.
I have not completely lost myself in my children's activities and have continued to pursue my own interests. I have become an avid gardener and am a member of the Dunbar Garden Club. I have volunteered with the club in various roles including 1 year as club vice-president and 2 years as club president. I am an avid marathon runner. I have run 5 marathons (including the Boston marathon) and numerous half-marathons.
