REP COACH SELECTION
2010-2011
Applications for coaching a rep team for the 2010-2011 season are
now being accepted. Applicants should put together a resume of
their relevant hockey experience and training and submit it to the
Director of Hockey Operations, Jim Strang, at
director@vancouvertbirds.ca. Please also indicate the levels at
which you would prefer to coach.
While the deadline for receiving applications
is formally May 31, 2010, the interview process is already under
way and we would encourage all interested applicants to submit
their applications sooner rather than later.
The
criteria and process are set out in our Policy P10, which can be
viewed on the website under “Policies”. That policy also sets out
the policy applicable to parents who are applying to coach teams
that their own children will be trying out for. The Association
gives preference to independent coach applicants, while at the same
time endeavouring to find the best qualified, best suited head
coach for each rep team.
All
coaches must commit to completing the necessary certifications (for
rep teams from Peewee above, that includes the Developmental One
clinic) by December 1.
