Vancouver Thunderbirds Summer Camps 2020

August 10-14
August 17-21
August 24-28
August 31-September 4

Hillcrest Centre

Please note that Vancouver Thunderbirds are hopeful that all camps will proceed as planned. We are in communication with our sport governing bodies to determine the steps forward as our community begins to emerge from the impact of Covid-19. We will operate all camps under Vancouver Coastal Health Authority approved parameters. This may require adjustments that are unknown at this point and we will communicate these as we confirm the environment for each week. All deposits will be 100% refundable if a camp is not able to occur.

We will accept a maximum of 20 players into each camp at this time. If we are asked to restrict the numbers, spaces will be allocated based on when registrations were received however we will work to find creative ways to engage all registrants.

We welcome all registered minor hockey players to join the Thunderbirds Summer Camp program. Once you register, we will contact you to ask for your home association so we can ensure you have Hockey Canada insurance.

Vancouver Thunderbirds Hockey will provide options for players of all ages to get ready for the upcoming season this August. From our introduction to hockey camps to specialized skills camps to our rep prep camps, there is something for everyone.

For our younger participants, an all round focus on the basic skills of hockey will be offered. Under the leadership of Amy de Bree, players will be provided a high tempo environment to shake off any summer rust and jump into the new season at top speed. For our newest TBirds, it will offer a chance to meet some new friends and get a look at the excitement that is coming for the season.

For the U11 (atom) and older players, there will be opportunities in training camps (recreational) and rep prep camps alongside of skill specific camps to hone key areas of skill development.

While we are not offering a dedicated goaltender camp, we have opportunities for goaltenders to prepare for the season in our age specific training camps and rep prep camps with a dedicated goaltender instructor on the ice. Space is limited in all of these camps so we do encourage all goaltenders who wish to participate to register early!

Camp Instructors:
Vancouver Thunderbirds Hockey is fortunate to have a strong group of skill instructors and rep coaches in our family. This summer, camps will be led by a lead instructor, a strong assistant coach along with other TBird parent coaches and/or alumni and/or current midget players gaining valuable coaching experience. Together they will provide an exceptional learning environment for our players.
