We are excited to have such an incredible lineup of coaches leading the way for our rep program next season. We are still accepting resumes for a couple teams and hope we can repeat our unprecedented success from last year of having a contract non-parent coach for every rep team, but we also know that we are in good hands with parent coaches supported by skill instructors if needed for the last of the U11 and U13 teams.

U11A1 – Rod Ramsay
Rod is new to TBirds but is no stranger to the PCAHA having coached in Semiahmoo (atom and peewee), Surrey (peewee and bantam) and Vancouver Minor (bantam and lead skills instructor) while also gaining experience coaching midget in Regina and overseas in the UK and last year spent the season with Hockey without borders in Serbia.

 

 


U11 A3 – Graham Millar
Graham returns for his second year behind a TBirds bench after coaching our U11 A4 team last season. Graham also helps with the men’s UBC varsity program and is a full time UBC student.

 

 

 

U13 A1 – Brian Busenius
With the departure of Phil Greiff back to his home community in Langley, Brian returns to a head coaching role with the Thunderbirds after coaching our peewee A2 team in 2017-18 and 2018-19. He has been on the ice with our littlest TBirds over the past couple seasons as a lead instructor for the U6 and U7 groups while furthering his role at the UBC Doug Mitchell arena. We are excited to have him back on the bench!

 

 


U13 A2 – Harrison Brown
Harrison will be returning to TBirds for a 7th year as a coach in our peewee/U13 division after most recently coaching our U13 A3 team last season.

 

 

 

 

U15 A1 – Danny Hildebrand
Danny has coached with TBirds for 15 years overall after being part of his two sons growing up in the association to continuing on in our rep division after they graduated. He is returning for his fifth consecutive year in our U15 division, this year leading the way with the A1 team. He will be joined by ACs Lucas Hildebrand (2020-21 William Staiger Award winner) and Julian Caldwell.

 

 

U15 A2 – Mike Todd
Mike is also a member of our 15 year coaches’ club and will be overseeing the development of our U15 A2 team this season. Mike will be joined by AC Kyle Star this season, who was an AC with the U15 A3 team last season.

 

 

 

U15 A3 – Pat Sihota
Pat is returning for his second season on the bench with TBirds after coaching our U13 A4 team last season. Pat has an extensive coaching career in minor hockey at all ages and levels and focusses on the key development pathway for the players. Pat will be joined by Bryson Sihota, his counterpart in the past couple of seasons.

 

 

U18 A1 – Steven Maisey
Steven is returning for his fourth season with the U18 A1 team, third as the Head Coach along with AC Sean O’Brien who is coming in for his third season with the team.

 

 

 

U18 A2 – Jason MacCulloch
Jason is returning as Head Coach for the U18 A2 team for a second year. This team will be a joint team with Vancouver Minor Hockey Association following a successful pilot conducted last season that allowed a roster of rep calibre players to join together to continue playing at the highest level. Jason will be joined by Kevin Isherwood again this year and we are in the process of working with Van Minor to identify a second AC from within their fold.
