Stan Sibert hired as the Thunderbirds Coach Development Lead, Rep for the 2019/20 season
Vancouver Thunderbirds is excited to announce the addition of Stan Sibert to our hockey operations team. Stan will act as the Coach Development Lead for our Rep division within our Coaching Excellence Program.
A former professional hockey player in Slovakia, Stan is well known for his skill development of elite players focusing on advanced European methods he acquired while coaching in his native Slovakia. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in physical education focusing on hockey coaching. Stan is currently part of the coaching staff at the Vancouver Hockey School and will be returning as Head Coach of the St. George’s Bantam varsity team. He has provided on-ice skill development and coach mentorship at other minor hockey associations and brings a strong background of assisting coaches.
Our coaches hold the largest influence on the environment that our players participate within and it is our goal to provide support to help them be successful. Stan will work with each rep team’s coaching staff to identify areas he can provide assistance to allow them to grow and become stronger coaches within the Thunderbirds. This support will be provided to both parent and contract coaches with individual plans being created to maximize the development opportunity.
Our Below Atom and Recreational divisions have similar resources already in place and Stan will be a tremendous addition to our in-house professional development program for all coaches.
Please join us in welcoming Stan to the Thunderbird family!
