Thunderbirds partner with the Canucks Learn to Play program to provide smiles

This season is the first experience for the TBirds to offer the Canucks Learn to Play program, and one week into the six session program we are thrilled to be part of the fun! Fifty players aged 4-7 are getting the chance to experience playing hockey for the first time in an organized setting, and thanks to the Canucks, they receive brand new equipment through NHL partners as well!

The first session was held this past Sunday and we aren’t sure who had the most fun – the players, the coaches or the parents! Needless to say, there were smiles all around and a lot of hockey crazy kids who are looking forward to coming back.

Heard around the rink

“This is the craziest fun ever!”

“No one ever told me hockey was this good. Can we come back tomorrow?”

“I can’t believe everyone received brand new equipment…to keep! We thought it was just going to be used equipment that we could borrow for the sessions. Amazing!”

We can’t wait to see everyone back for another five sesssions this year, and many more to come in the future!
