We are excited to announce we have secured a partnership with KidSport Vancouver to administer our Thunderbird Bursary Program for the 2020/21 season.

KidSport is a highly respected organization that has provided financial assistance to over 825,000 youth since its creation in 1993. The Thunderbird Bursary Program will be launched for next season and will benefit greatly from KidSport’s expertise.

The application period will open later this spring in time for the start of registration. KidSport will oversee the administration of the program including accepting applications and identifying those that fit within the parameters of the Bursary Program. This will provide confidentiality to the process allowing our membership to have a higher level of comfort when submitting their application.

The Bursary Program will allow for eligible Thunderbirds families to receive support of 80% of their base registration fee.

Funding for the Thunderbird Bursary Program will come from three primary sources for the first year:

  • All profits from Thunderball 2020 including funds raised through ticket sales, auctions and onsite sales
  • Direct donations to the Bursary program
  • Application of all donations received in memory of Randy Fisher as per the direction of the Fisher family
