U15 (Bantam) and U18 (Midget) High Performance Program

Vancouver Thunderbirds offers more than just a chance to play hockey at a higher level of play for our U15 and U18 rep divisions. We have developed a program that will allow players to focus on improving their overall athleticism as well as their skill as a hockey player.

The U15 and U18 High Performance Program will allow all players access to additional on-ice skills on a regular basis as well as provide the opportunity to develop their athleticism through dryland training. For the A1 teams, the dryland component is part of the official program and A2 players will have the opportunity to opt-in. We will continue to work with our partners to finalize the 2020/21 season program over the coming weeks. An information meeting was held in early March and you can view the slide deck from that meeting here.

The fees for those in this program work a bit differently than the other divisions. Players will pay the base registration fee with their registration the same, however the total fees collected by the association in the fall replace the rep fee and the vast majority of the team fee. Included in the rep fee are a coaching fee, additional ice times, tournament allocation ($9500 per team), apparel package (A1), dryland program (A1), and a small miscellaneous amount.

We will have confirmed costs in place in the summer as we finalize contracts for both apparel and dryland however the maximum overall fee (including base registration fee you will be paying in May) will be:

A1 players: under $4k (last season $3499)
A2 players*: under $3k (last season $2709)
* A2 players will be given the opportunity to opt-in individually to the dryland or apparel programs and will be charged separately

Rep Tryouts for the 2021/22 season are currently in the planning process and information will be shared in early August.
