Initiation and Novice Players

Hillcrest Centre
Vancouver Thunderbirds Hockey is one of the few options for hockey camps for players born in 2010-2013. We offer programs for our newest to the flock players who will be starting their first season of organized hockey this September through to those that have been playing for three seasons already.
Hockey 1 and 2 Players (Initiation)
New(er) Player Preparation Camp
This camp is specifically designed to welcome players who have never played organized hockey alongside our one year "veterans" who can show them the ropes. It will be a great way to introduce new players to the rink, getting ready, and to show them just how much fun to expect every week once the season starts. For our Hockey 2 players, they will be put through the paces to get them ready for the start of another great season.
Hockey 3 and 4 Players (Novice)
Pre-Season Training Camp
This camp is for all of our Thunderbird players to have the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season. The focus will be on skating and puck control in a high intensity environment through a combination of drills, small area games and scrimmages. It will also serve as a way for new players to get to know a few people and get a head start on the season.
* Note: The timing of this camp allows for a participant to take part in any of the available camps offered by Hillcrest Centre in the morning ending at 12:00 pm. Click here to be taken to their website to view the options. Pick up from any Hillcrest camp taking place onsite at the Hillcrest Community Centre and escort to the Thunderbirds camp can be arranged. Once you are registered in both camps, please email thunderbirds@vancouvertbirds.ca with the information.
