Scotiabank sponsorship of Thunderbirds’ Rep and Recreational Divisions will help our Players Skate, Shoot and Soar!
Thunderbirds Hockey is very pleased to announce that Scotiabank has generously agreed to support our Thunderbirds’ community as the presenting sponsor of our rep and recreational divisions.
Scotiabank’s sponsorship of Thunderbirds Hockey follows the board’s recent efforts to seek financial and in-kind support for our hockey community from new corporate sponsors and program partners. The three-year sponsorship agreement with Scotiabank is well aligned with our association’s mission, vision and values.
Scotiabank supports organizations and programs that are committed to helping young people reach their infinite potential, particularly in the areas of health, well-being and education. They are proud supporters of community hockey teams across Canada. You can find out more about Scotiabank’s community giving at their website.
As part of our sponsorship agreement, Scotiabank is donating a “team kit” to every team in the rec and rep divisions this year and the two following. The kits include water bottles, toques, pucks and coach’s clipboards. Players in these division will also don the Scotiabank Hockey Club patch on their game jerseys. The team kits will be made available to team managers starting next week.
Some thing else to watch for that we’re very excited about is the opportunity for the Thunderbirds to help support girls in minor hockey by co-hosting the Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest. The first Girls HockeyFest will take place in early 2019 and will involve girls aged 7-14 participating in a combination of skills, training and motivation with coaching from local female hockey veterans and CWHL stars! The participants will benefit from the opportunity this event offers, as will our entire association.
More information on the Girls HockeyFest will be posted when it is available.
We look forward to collaborating with Scotiabank in the years ahead.
